International sales and launching of the distribution of season 3

France tv distribution is happy to announce new international sales of Chantal, a Belgian series produced by Eyeworks.

The series has been brought to Australia by SBS, to Canada by Radio Canada, to Czeck Republic and Slovakia by Canal+, to the USA by MHZ Choice and to France by TF1+.

Season 1

This was a man’s world… And then came Chantal.
Inspector Chantal Vantomme starts a new life in a small, rural town with her daughter Emma. In this Belgian “Far West” where people are used to taking matters into their own hands, the apparent peacefulness should not deceive anyone.
Add to that, Chantal has to contend with macho behavior from colleagues and neighbors… Hopefully, this is all temporary: Chantal plans on taking the exam to become Chief Commissioner and move to a bigger town. But as is often the case with pre-set plans, reality turns out differently.

Season 2

Inspector Chantal Vantomme faces new trials in the small, rural Belgian town she now calls home. While under suspension due to an Internal Affairs investigation, she becomes embroiled in a complex murder case to clear a friend's name. Alongside, personal challenges arise as she navigates her relationship with her daughter, Emma, and grows closer to her neighbour, Arne.

France tv distribution is delighted to announce the acquisition of season 3 (8x52') of the series, currently shooting.

Synopsis

Chantal is challenged on multiple front. She must once again prove she is the right woman in the right place in the ongoing fight against Loveringem crime. 

The male predominance in the police department and in the town hall is gradually crumbling as her team will be reinforced by Els, who comes to work at the front desk as a civilian assistant. This to the delight of Mayor Vanhecke, who is going through an identity crisis, and to the great displeasure of the Sheriff, who is getting fed up with all these women in the office.

At the same time Chantal's private life is under pressure. Can she commit to a romantic relationship with Arne? Has she made the right choice and how on earth do you keep the balance between work and private life? A balancing act on a tightrope.
