Global IP

France tv distribution launches GLOBAL IP

France tv distribution is delighted to announce the creation of a new entity devoted to formats: GLOBAL IP.

For a decade, France tv distribution has been developing its format management and sales expertise, offering producers enhanced IP value worldwide.

By specializing in territory-based sales and IP types, as well as contract models, marketing and multilingual delivery, our teams are able to provide a customized strategy for each program, regardless of its nature - fiction, non-scripted-shows or movies.

In the fiction arena, Call my Agent! (Dix pour cent) paved the way for this development several years ago. It now has 15 remakes and options in over 25 territories! Chronicles of the Sun (Un Si Grand Soleil) has been adapted in Greece, and shooting of the British remake of Bright Minds (Astrid et Raphaëlle) was recently a wrap. Remake rights for several series from France tv distribution’s line-up (Vortex among them) have been optioned in numerous countries. Non-scripted shows are also enjoying huge success: the format rights of the renowned game Countdown (Des Chiffres et Des Lettres) have been sold in over 15 countries, including Spain, the UK and Australia. Last but not least, sales of remake rights for big screen movies in France tv distribution’s catalog are soaring.

Catherine Bernard, France tv distribution’s Deputy Managing Director:

"France tv distribution has mastered multi-genre IP sales (cinema, fiction, documentaries, TV shows) across all territories. On the strength of more than a decade of experience in format sales (starting with the sale of "Call my Agent!" in about a dozen territories), we have now created GLOBAL IP. Because selling formats requires a specific strategy for each individual territory based on each IP’s assets and release schedule."

Julia Schulte, SVP of International Sales at France tv distribution:

"By creating GLOBAL IP, we are bringing to fruition our sales and 360°financing strategy, thereby providing each program with the best possible distribution and enhancement solutions, both in France and worldwide. We work hand in hand with the producers to export original productions and formats, thereby creating a virtuous circle for French production."
