France tv distribution is delighted to announce the launching of the international distribution of GEORGE Untamed Spirit (original title: La Rebelle) produced by Siècle Productions and Umedia.

Distributed worldwide by France tv distribution, GEORGE Untamed Spirit will be launched at the MIPCOM, which will take place from October 21 to 24, 2024 in Cannes.

Synopsis

Aurore Dupin fled Nohant for Paris to escape her violent husband and break free from the bourgeois shackles of her upbringing. In the bustling capital of the early 19th century, Aurore led a Bohemian life and published her very first novel, using a pseudonym; and so “George Sand” was born. She went on to become the first female writer ever to make a living from her books, inflaming her readers’ passions and sealing a string of literary successes. A feminist before her time, wearing men’s clothing and smoking a pipe in cabarets, she had a plethora of lovers, Alfred de Musset, Jules Sandeau and the great actress Marie Dorval among the most famous.

Her novels paint a vast fresco of her time, but her true masterpiece... is her life!
