May 22 on France 2 after the final

In the form of an intimate documentary, the camera makes itself forgotten to offer us a place of choice as close as possible to Barbara: that of a privileged confidant, that of a friend to whom the artist, the young woman, reveals herself without restraint and shares her daily life. A benevolent look at this personality with a disturbing sensitivity that testifies to an inner path that is both familiar and unusual: this young woman with dark eyes who just wants to tell stories manages to touch us with what we feel is essential. This documentary allows us to witness the birth of a rare artist who is preparing to face all the stages of a great adventure that will profoundly change her life: the preparation, the participation, the consecration at the international level of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Her talent, her sincerity and her involvement make her one of the future great figures of tomorrow, and probably an essential French artist.

A 52 min documentary - Directed by Gianluca Matarrese.

20h30 le samedi : eurovision special

Saturday, May 22 at 8:30 pm

2

Just before the grand final, the magazine 20h30 le samedi, presented live by Laurent Delahousse, will be devoted to Eurovision. A special program behind the scenes of the event, from yesterday to today, declined in 3 acts. To be leafed through like a family album.

Act 1 - The day when... Claude François, Nicoletta and Eurovision
20h30 le samedi revisits the short history of Eurovision with two of the most famous French songs in the world.
"Comme d'habitude", by Claude François, and "Il est mort le soleil" by Nicoletta have a surprising history with Eurovision: one was flunked, and the other might never have seen the light of day without the contest...

Act 2 - News : ABBA the immortal
In 1974, a Swedish hurricane lands on the Eurovision stage: the group ABBA, initials of the four members of the group, Anni-Frid, Björn, Benny and Agnetha. On April 6, they won the contest with a song that became cult, "Waterloo", one of the best songs in the history of the competition. Even today, ABBAmania does not dry up: the last unreleased songs of the group date from 1994, but the mythical group announced several months ago the release of new songs in 2021, and continues to influence the new generation. Back on one of the biggest myths of Eurovision.

Bonus : Barbara Pravi
This year, our French champion would be one of the best candidates to win the contest, according to the English bookmakers! She writes all her texts, nourished by the influences of Brel, Barbara, Brassens, or even Aragon, texts that she wants partly autobiographical.
Portrait of a modern woman full of talent, that 20h30 was able to accompany in the final preparations of the contest, and until the last hours before the stage.

During this grand final, 26 countries will compete to win the trophy, the opportunity to discover and vote for your favorite performances. How are the votes cast?

Each artist receives a total of points composed of 50% by the votes of the national juries and 50% by the votes of the public. To begin the announcement of the votes, the spokespersons of the 39 participating countries reveal the results of their national juries ("12 points from France go to...").

This year, the French spokesperson is Julia Molkhou. At the end of the 39 spokespersons, the presenters will give the results of the public vote on stage. At the end of this voting phase, the grand winner of Eurovision 2021 will be known!

See you on May 22 for an exceptional evening!
